About Us
HOME is located at the corner of Crawford and Rutledge Streets, Queanbeyan. HOME aims to provide a supportive, loving home for men and women with mental illness who cannot live independently or are at risk of homelessness. HOME provides long term supported accommodation in a non-institutional setting. First and foremost, HOME is a place of friendship that counters the isolation and loneliness that too often goes hand in hand with mental illness. We recognise that people need more than just a house and meals, but regular loving care and support too - a home.
How your donation will help
HOME does not receive any government funding; residents pay rent which covers approximately 40% of HOME's costs. HOME relies on the community's generosity to meet the remainder of our expenses. HOME is supported by a wonderful team of volunteers who provide their skills and time to enhance the lives of the residents. HOME holds an annual movie night and fundraiser. However, due to COVID, 2020, 2021 and 2022, events were unfortunately cancelled.
