Capital Region Community Services (CRCS) was established in 1975 by the people of Belconnen. CRCS was formerly known as Belconnen Community Service until a name change in 2020. CRCS now support the entire Capital Region through dedicated services for young people, children, families, older people, people living with disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and people from non-English speaking backgrounds.
Our vision is to have inclusive, connected communities across the Capital Region.
Our purpose is to empower people to live their best life through:
- Building and connecting communities.
- Delivering relevant, person-centred services; and
- Providing choice and opportunity
CRCS provides many services and programs, including early education and care, early intervention services, youth mental health, youth engagement, outside school hours care, a community centre, aged care and community transport services.
CRCS supports a large proportion of the community, and we believe in high quality, child safe and inclusive programs backed by a dedicated team of employees and volunteers.
How your donation will help?
For many people, being unable to maintain their outdoor space can be devastating to their lives. Disempowerment, embarrassment, eviction, and even homelessness can occur from events that are, in many cases, beyond people’s control.
Since 2012, Capital Region Community Services (CRCS) has supported the local community by providing 10 hours of free basic gardening and yard clean-ups to 10 households every year. In 2022, we are expanding the project to a staggering 21 homes. We have set a fundraising target of $10,000 or more to achieve this.
Employees of CRCS, Housing ACT, Westpac, friends, family, and the community all volunteer their time to help those in need of a yard makeover. Volunteers undertake a range of tasks as part of different teams, such as weeding, pruning, removing green waste and rubbish, and preparing lunch and refreshments.
CRCS can only meet our 10/10 project goals with generous donations from the individuals and businesses in our community. Without these donations, the 10/10 Project would not be possible.
