About Us
Canberra Refugee Support (CRS) helps asylum seekers and refugees in the Canberra region become as independent as possible as soon as possible. Our support to refugees and asylum-seekers includes assisting refugees to settle in Canberra, providing advocacy, and providing policy advice.
How your donation will help?
Canberra Refugee Support is raising funds to continue our work supporting refugees and asylum seekers living in the Canberra region. As an volunteer organisation with no overheads all funds go directly to assisting local refugees and stay within the local region. Assistance provided by Canberra Refugee Support includes: - good neighbour support - practical support and links with other services to assist with accommodation, furniture, schooling and education, english language training, healthcare and jobs - support to cover essential living expenses. Each year Canberra Refugee Support also uses the funds it has raised to award Geoff McPherson Scholarships to students in the Canberra region to recognise meritorious performance and encourage and support outstanding refugee students.
