About Us
Canberra Refugee Support (CRS) connects volunteers with asylum seekers and refugees in the Australian Capital Territory. CRS volunteers provide 'good neighbour support', assisting asylum seekers and refugees to be engaged, independent and included in the Canberra community as soon as possible. At the heart of our work is human connection: being good neighbours, making people welcome and building communities with people looking for a safe place.
CRS is not-for-profit organisation operated by volunteers. CRS members are passionate advocates for improving the lives of refugees and asylum seekers in the Canberra community. We are proud to have assisted refugees and asylum seekers for more than 20 years.
How your donation will help
Every dollar donated to Canberra Refugee Support (CRS) will go directly to assisting refugees and asylum seekers to meet their basic needs and build a new life in Canberra.
CRS works closely with the people we support and provide assistance tailored to the individual or family and their particular needs. Your donation could help:
- families avoid homelessness by assisting to meet housing costs
- keep families warm over the cold winter months by assisting with heating costs
- people to access much need urgent medical care
- a child to participate in sport
- provide educational awards to students for education and training costs
A big thank you to our Supporters
