About Us
Council of the Ageing (COTA) ACT is the peak body representing ACT seniors and all issues affecting their ageing journey. No matter where someone is in their ageing journey, we have a range of programs and services that inform, connect and support older Canberrans to live their best lives.
We manage a range of free programs and services, including:
- Seniors Information Service
- Get IT digital literacy program
- ACT Seniors Card program
- Aged Care Navigation Service
- Housing Options Advisory Service
- Strength for Life and Strong Women for Life Outreach Services
- Hughes Community Shed
- Events and information sessions and publications
Additionally, we work with the government and community to ensure that older people have representation in policy development.
COTA ACT offers pertinent and up to date information and assistance to older people that is clear, relevant and useful on a wide range of topics and issues. We provide more than 15,000 instances of support each year over the phone, in person and via email. In 2022 COTA ACT will be taking our services across the ACT and surrounds through ACT Libraries, shopping centres and seniors centres
How your donation will help
More than ever, ACT seniors rely on the information COTA ACT provides. All money raised will go towards COTA ACT's outreach services to bring our services and programs to community locations and events, ensuring we offer better access to more people. This will allow us to personally engage with seniors who prefer a conversation and face to face help and don't have access to online media. The outreach will also focus on providing digital literacy assistance and aged care navigation to older people.
A big thank you to our Supporters
