About Us
The Australian Red Cross works with the ACT community to support vulnerable cohorts via humanitarian aid. More specifically, we support refugees & migrants with a safe and welcoming introduction to their new life in Australia, as well those at risk of homelessness or experiencing homelessness, access to food, groceries, and links to essential services. We also support families, youth, and older Australians via various programs including our Roadhouse Program, Birth Family Advocacy Support Service, Social Inclusion Programs, and Humanitarian Settlement Program. Australian Red Cross is also activated in times of Emergency across the Nation to ensure Psychological First aid and that families are reunited or aware of their location via register, find reunite. Furthermore Australian Red Cross supports communities via preparedness programs, Community Disaster Resilience, Psychological First Aid (PFA) at evacuation and recovery centres, nation-wide capability for Register.Find.Reunite, long-term disaster recovery programs, and psychosocial support programs and community outreach.
How your donation will help
Australian Red Cross Canberra works with our local community for our local community, working to understand the needs of every individual. Increased living costs, inclusive of housing and basic household items has increased the demand on our support services. We are looking to provide further support via our Roadhouse & Humanitarian Settlement program to assist anyone in need. More specifically, we support refugees & migrants with a safe and welcoming introduction to their new life in Australia, as well those at risk of homelessness or experiencing homelessness, access to food, groceries, and links to essential services. We support families, youth, and older Australians.
