About Us
Sailability CYC welcomes all people to sailing without regard to age, ability, gender or socio-economic status. We cater for people with disabilities who wish to experience 'freedom on the water' and have facilities and resources to teach people to sail and allow them to broaden their horizons. These facilities include specially designed boats, jetties, and launching equipment to ensure safety and accessibility for people of all abilities. We provide an important community service allowing people to broaden their horizons. We also strongly encourage family groups and provide a safe, supportive and friendly environment where challenges are met and overcome. We offer a safe & inclusive platform for participants to build confidence, and a established pathway for them to progress from Come and Try sailing activities through to full control sailing and competitive racing within mainstream sailing fleets. Sailability ACT successfully merged with Canberra Yacht Club in 2017, retaining the incredible knowledge and hardworking volunteers, while giving the program a larger public reach and greater resources.
How your donation will help
The Sailability Program relies on funding to carry out its day-to-day life changing experiences. Quite simply, the more funding we receive, the more Sailors we can get out on the water, experiencing the freedom and independence that this program provides in such a unique way.
