About Us
Established in 2002, Kulture Break is a not-for-profit social enterprise. Maintaining good mental health is a big challenge for our young people in these challenging times. With an emphasis on the early intervention approach to creative arts programming, Kulture Break makes a valuable contribution to the Canberra community and individual young people’s lives by providing a welcoming and inclusive space for them to belong and express themselves and develop their future aspirations. We aim to empower and transform lives and reduce the risks associated with their mental health. Since our inception with 7 participants, Kulture Break has engaged up to 8,000 young people in weekly programs. To date, Kulture Break has impacted over 400,000 young people across Australia and worldwide.
How your donation will help
Last year, with the help of HAC, we provided scholarships for disadvantaged young people and young people living with a disability the opportunity to participate in our dance mentoring programs. The money raised this year will help us extend this opportunity for 40 young people to participate in a semester of dance for well-being programs and support 24 youth at risk to participate in our mentoring programs Man up and Ladies 1st.
