The Canberra Day Appeal raises much needed funds for our charities. Funds raised by Hands Across Canberra are distributed through our grant programs to the more than 360 charities we work with.
This year, the Canberra Day Appeal’s 48-hour Hands Up for Canberra Giving Day begins on Wednesday, March 6. So please, give where you live and donate here during the 48h Giving Day donation drive.
You can also already donate today!
Please help us reach our goal #HandsUp4CBR
About Us
Hands Across Canberra is Canberra’s independent community foundation. Founded in 2010 by a group of Canberra leaders with the idea of creating a foundation to help fellow Canberrans and give back to the community, it now works with more than 360 local community organisations.
The goal is to tackle the challenges in the community by raising funds for community-service organisations working with our most vulnerable individuals and families, while also embedding a culture of giving in Canberra.
How your donation will help
By supporting Hands Across Canberra through the Hands Up for Canberra Giving Day, you will be supporting over 360 local charities and community organisations in our network, as funds will be going into our next grant round. Hands Across Canberra regularly distributes grants based on the needs of those most vulnerable in our community.
A big thank you to our Supporters

Thank you to all the charities that support those in need. It’s up to those who have the capacity to donate, to do so to help others.

Rotary Club of Canberra Sunrise
The Rotary Club of Canberra Sunrise greatly appreciates the significant work that the Volunteer Brigades Association undertakes within Canberra and its environs to protect our communities at times of crisis and natural disaster before those events occur.
