About Us
How your donation will help
Supporting the diabetes community in the ACT
Your donation to the Canberra Day Appeal will help Diabetes Australia provide even more support and make a difference to over 20,000 people living with diabetes in the ACT, as well as those at risk of diabetes, their families and carers, health providers, researchers, and the community.
Diabetes Australia will be able to deliver more support through initiatives such as:
- The Diabuddies program, which helps connect and educate children and teens with type 1 diabetes and their families through face to face and online events.
- The Diabetes Counselling Service.
- Working across all levels of government to represent the views of people living with diabetes in all types of public debates and discussions.
- Diabetes Australia Research Program, which supports and develops outstanding diabetes research in Australia. We do this by funding a range of grants across the full spectrum of diabetes research through a merit based, competitive, peer review process. Research projects can focus on prevention, management of diabetes or the cure for diabetes.
- Diabetes educational programs and resources offered through Diabetes Qualified - a solution for health professionals wanting to access the latest diabetes education and resources all in one place.
On behalf of the diabetes community, we say thank you for your support.
A big thank you to our Supporters
