Communities at Work is Canberra's largest not-for-profit community organisation, with a proud 44 year history. We provide a range of community services across six program areas and pride ourselves on the positive contribution we make to the lives of people in our local community. 

How your donation will help

Supporting local people in need is at the core of Communities at Work's mission. Our two community pantries (at Tuggeranong and Gungahlin) are a vital part of that support - now more than ever. 

Our goal this year is to raise at least $5,000 to do a 'makeover' of the outdoor area at the Gungahlin Pantry, turning it into a relaxing and welcoming multifunctional outdoor community space.  

Many of our clients feel lonely, so come to our pantries not just to collect food and other essential items, but to enjoy much-needed company and a chat.  

With your help we aim to: 

• erect outdoor noticeboards (to inform clients about essential outreach services and community events). 
• install new outdoor furniture (to create welcoming spaces so clients can rest and/or connect socially with others in a safe space) 
• build raised garden beds (so clients can pick their own fresh herbs to go with the pantry food they choose and collect).
