About Us
The ACTVBA works to improve the psychological, social, and physical wellbeing of Canberra's volunteer firefighters including through education, and the provision of support and advocacy services. During 2021-2022, the ACT Rural Fire Service volunteers who the ACTVBA represents, freely contributed nearly 23,000 hours of their time to keeping our community safe, informed, and supported. This includes 12,000 hours of training, 6000 hours of operations, and many more hours spent engaging and educating our community.
How your donation will help
The ACTVBA is raising funds to establish an emergency support fund for volunteer firefighters who suffer a crisis, and their families. This could include things like funding emergency accommodation, providing support with funeral expenses, and supporting brigades to assist members who may be experiencing an adverse life altering event, such as a life threatening illness or injury.
