About Us
The ACT Down Syndrome Association (ACTDSA) aims to improve the quality of life for people with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities by providing support and information to their families, carers, schools, employers and other organisations.
ACTDSA actively works within the community to assist in the removal of barriers for people with a disability to access mainstream services.
How your donation will help
The ACT Down Syndrome Association supports hundreds of people with intellectual disabilities and their support networks in the ACT region and receives no core funding from the ACT Government. While some projects receive grant funding, we rely on fundraising and donations to cover the operating costs of the organisation. These costs include rent, office maintenance, insurance, internet and phone along with staff wages. Through the Canberra Day Appeal, we hope to raise funds to help offset the increasing costs associated with running our organisation so that we can spend more time supporting our local community.
A big thank you to our Supporters
