Communities @ Work

As the largest local provider of children’s services in the ACT, Communities@Work is privileged to provide education and care services for over 6,000 children. Our demonstrated record of excellence and practical experience over 43 years has been focused on providing child-focused, high quality, value-for-money services that provide families choice and flexibility. As a local not-for-profit community organisation, we invest any surplus we make right back into our community.

Our range of children’s services includes child care and education centres, family day care and in-home care educators, out of school hours care services and school holiday program services

Beyond our children’s services, we provide much-needed support for Canberra’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged through food, clothing and accommodation services, with our two community pantries supporting almost 15,000 people each year with essential food items.

We also provide ongoing education for vulnerable young people through our Galilee School; provide community transport, support coordination and programs for seniors and people living with disability; partner with communities and businesses to develop better connected communities; and run an award-winning registered training organisation for early education and care qualifications and professional development.

On March 9, join us in raising our hands for Canberra!

Be part of the 2nd annual Hands Up for Canberra Giving Day and help us turn this into an annual giving tradition for every Canberran!

March 9th, the day after Canberra Day, will be a historic day for everyone in our community to GIVE BIG - join in on the fun(draising) and support us through the Hands up for Canberra Giving Day! Plus, every $1 you donate will become $2 with our generous matched funding matching dollar-for-dollar until we reach $10,000.

We'll have just 48 hours to raise $10,000! Come on Canberra, together we can do this!
