Clare Holland House

The Clare Holland House Community Fundraiser is your opportunity to make a contribution to the expansion project and help enrich palliative and end of life care for more people in our region.

Clare Holland House is an iconic service that has created many special memories for people in our region. Clare Holland House operates a 19 bed inpatient unit including the ACT Hospice, is the base for the Specialist Community Palliative Care service in the ACT, and also runs outpatient palliative care clinic services. The environment supports clinical excellence while offering a calm and homely setting where families can remain close and are encouraged to participate in care and decision making.

An eight-bed expansion of Clare Holland House began in August last year and due for completion in June 2021.

When planning for the expansion project commenced, an agreed goal was to create the opportunity for people and organisations to contribute and be part of the expansion of one of Canberra’s most valued community services.

The funding of $6m for the construction project was provided by the Australian Government and The Snow Foundation, and the community fundraising campaign invites donations for furnishings, fittings and landscaping that will enrich the patient experience and enhance the amenity for patients and their family and friends.

The expansion will increase the hospice’s capacity to service palliative care patients by around 30 per cent—or an additional 250 people from the Canberra region per year.

The Specialist Palliative Care services at Clare Holland House are provided by Calvary Health Care.

Your donation is tax-deductible, and all funds raised will be used in conjunction with the expansion project for the benefit of Clare Holland House patients and their support networks.
