Our goal

About Us

Our vision is to partner with Government, Business and the local Community to build and administer a purpose built respite care facility in Queanbeyan which will be called Yvonne Cuschieri House, the founder of Respite Care for QBN and who passed away in June 2021.

The facility will support carers and provide short-term professional residential care for people aged 18 to 59 years suffering from a terminal or chronic illness.

Currently these people go into nursing homes and aged care facilities for respite care, a completely wrong environment.

How your donation will help

All money's raised through the Canberra Day Appeal will go towards the short-fall in funds we currently have to build Yvonne Cuschieri House. The short-fall was brought about by the increase in building costs post COVID.

To date we have designed Yvonne Cuschieri House, have a block of land in Ross Road Queanbeyan, have DA approval and have appointed a builder. We hope to commence building by mid 2023 and open in early 2024.
