About Us
Cerebral Palsy Alliance supports the unique needs of around 400 babies, children, teenagers and adults with disability and their families from across Canberra each year. CPA provides a broad range of therapies and supports, including:
- Early childhood intervention for babies and young children to make the most of the period of highest development and growth
- Speech Pathology, including using technology and devices to communicate
- Occupational therapy for fine and gross motor development
- Physiotherapy to reduce pain, develop mobility, improve posture, equipment, aids and technology to make daily living more manageable, and sports programs for fitness, fun, and well-being.
Our programs are all focused on enabling people with disability to live the most independent, inclusive lives possible. We believe everyone with a disability should have access to the services they need wherever they live when they need it.
How your donation will help?
People with disability face additional challenges to participation in the community. These can be more difficult in regional areas, where greater distances, fewer services and a lack of resources can further isolate people with disability from accessing both mainstream and disability services. While disability therapy centres in regional areas are crucial hubs providing critical services, families can still face barriers to access, including the availability of appointments ability to travel and access the physical location and time.
CPA's Telepractice service helps overcome some of those barriers, enabling children with disability to access all the benefits of face-to-face speech pathology, occupational therapy and physiotherapy from the comfort and convenience of home via video-call.
To provide the best outcomes for our clients, we need specialised equipment, technology and devices to ensure Telepractice services are delivered seamlessly and effortlessly. Your support will help families access evidence-based, innovative and outcomes-focused Telepractice services backed by the right technology and equipment so that children with disability reach their goals for a more independent and inclusive life.
