We started in 1957 with a very humble and noble premise, to help people. This has not changed or wavered in 60 years. From the extensive coastline to the Snowy Mountains to the rolling hills and flat plains out west, our geographical diversity reflects our client base and the wide range of support services available to anyone in need. Whether it is counselling, family support, homelessness, NDIS services, mental health, aged care, youth outreach, drug and alcohol or housing support you need, we are here to help you. We‘re the hands and the eyes, and we’re the hearts and minds; we are there, there for any human. For 60 years, CatholicCare has been a leading provider of support services in the following areas: NDIS Family Support Services and Counselling Services Disability Aged Care Mental Health Youth Homelessness Alcohol and Other Drugs Housing.
How will your donation help?
Funds raised through this year’s Hands up for Canberra Giving Day will go to supported accommodation for men with severe and enduring mental illness. Funds will also be used to support those experiencing homelessness.
CatholicCare’s AXIAL and MINOSA housing supports predominantly men who are sleeping rough with short-term to permanent housing options.
At CatholicCare’s ARAMAC House, men with severe and enduring mental illness, and associated psychosocial disability, are supported to live in shared accommodation within the community, to regain and maintain living skills and to work on their personal recovery.
The Hands Up For Canberra Giving Day Appeal will make a significant difference in supporting activities such as community engagement and the establishment of a community garden.
